Buy at CRBNOur 1–10 ratings, built from the maker’s published specs and scored the same way for every brand. How we score
Calculated from our four ratings, weighted for each kind of player. How these are weighted
On our spec-based scale it rates 10 for power: a 100% foam core, a 14 mm core, an 8.0 oz average weight, a carbon-fiberglass face and a 16.5 in elongated shape add up to the top of our scale. CRBN describes a soft, muted feel that unlocks power when you swing hard, and says it hits harder than its X Series. Our scale scores core material, not CRBN's three TruFoam core designs, so a Genesis and a Waves in the same shape get the same ratings. CRBN positions Waves as its most powerful TruFoam paddle, Barrage for pop and fast counters, and Genesis as its all-court paddle.
A 14 mm core gives it a control rating of 7.5; the elongated shape and carbon-fiberglass face score lower for control on our scale. CRBN says the soft, flexing core suits resets and precision shots.
Its raw carbon face and elongated shape give it a spin rating of 9. CRBN says the Genesis core flexes like tennis strings for dwell and spin that doesn't fade as the surface wears.
A 7.35 in face, the narrowest CRBN shape, gives it a sweet-spot rating of 7.5, the lowest of the CRBN paddles we review.
Each section is our analysis of the manufacturer’s published specs unless it says otherwise.
Manufacturer data
CRBN publishes a swing weight of 118–120, high for its lineup, and a 246 mm balance point, the most head-heavy in CRBN's range.
CRBN lists a 5.75 in handle: a long handle with room for a two-handed backhand, which suits former tennis players. The grip circumference is 4.125 in, the most common size; players with larger hands often add an overgrip. At about 8 oz, it is in the mid-weight range most paddles fall into. Comfort is personal: grip size, handle length and weight are the published specs that affect it most.
Manufacturer data
A published twist weight of 5.75, the lowest of the CRBN paddles we review, as expected from its narrow face.
Manufacturer information
Genesis uses CRBN's patent-pending 100% TruFoam Gen-4 foam core, behind a T700 raw carbon face with an added fiberglass layer. CRBN says it was the first 100% foam-core performance paddle approved for tournament play. It ships with a neoprene paddle cover. CRBN covers registered paddles bought in the US or Canada for one year against manufacturing defects, and every paddle comes with a 30-day trial with free return shipping.
Manufacturer description and buyer feedback
CRBN describes a soft, muted sound and plush feel that excels on resets and unlocks power when you swing hard, and says to expect an adjustment period. As of October 2026, CRBN's site shows an average of 4.9 out of 5 from 300+ verified-buyer reviews. In the most recent reviews, buyers most often mention its control, followed by power. A few buyers report durability problems: one says it bent at the handle after a month, one says it did not hold up long, and one found it too light with a cheap-feeling face. These reports don't add up to a consistent pattern.

View review →CRBN makes its TruFoam paddles in four shapes: ¹ Elongated with a long handle (16.5 x 7.35 in, 5.75 in handle), which CRBN recommends for reach and offense; ² Standard (16 x 7.85 in) for defense and resets; ³ Elongated (16.5 x 7.5 in) for consistency and forgiveness; and ⁴ Hybrid AeroCurve (16.2 x 7.8 in) for hand speed and attacks.
Approved: on the USA Pickleball approved paddle list (checked 2026-10-01). CRBN also lists PBCoR 43 certification.
Our scale gives every 100% foam core full power points, so all of CRBN's TruFoam paddles rate 10 for power. CRBN positions Genesis as its all-court paddle for versatility, a softer feel and precise, high-spin shots, with Waves and Barrage as its power paddles, so we list Genesis under all-court.
