Dan’s Take

Similar price, same 16-inch wide-body shape, very different cores. The Loco Standard uses 16 mm dual-density foam; the Tempest Wave Pro-C uses Paddletek's thinner 14.3 mm SRT polymer core. On our scale the Loco rates much higher for power (9 vs 8) and a little higher for control (9 vs 8.5) and sweet spot (10 vs 9.5).

Buyers back the Loco with 4.8 out of 5 from 1,000+ ratings on Bread & Butter's site; the Tempest has 4.6 from 30+ on Paddletek's. Pick the Loco if you want more power from a forgiving wide-body. Pick the Tempest if you prefer a thinner, more traditional polymer paddle.
