Bread & Butter Filth Standard vs Volair Mach 2

The Bread & Butter Filth Standard scores 9.0 and the Volair Mach 2 scores 8.4 on our spec-based rating scale. Calculated from each maker’s published specs; we don’t play-test paddles.

Dan’s Take

The Mach 2 costs a lot less, and that's the main reason to look at it. Both have polypropylene cores, wide 16-inch shapes and T700 carbon faces, but the Mach 2 sold now is 14 mm against the Filth's 16 mm. On our scale the Filth leads across the board: control 9.5 vs 8.5, spin 8.5 vs 8, sweet spot 10 vs 9.5 and power 8 vs 7.5.

Buyer scores are close and both samples are fairly small: 4.7 out of 5 from 50+ ratings on Bread & Butter's site and 4.6 from 20+ on Volair's. Pick the Mach 2 if budget comes first and you want a carbon face anyway. Pick the Filth if you want the better control paddle on paper.
